Pupil Premium

Hayes Primary School receives Pupil Premium Grant funding from the Government for pupils who are eligible for free school meals (FSM), or who have been eligible at any point in the last six years. This additional funding is provided to help schools raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and reduce gaps between them and their peers.

Additional funding is also received for some children in the care of the Local Authority, previously looked-after children, and children of parents serving in the armed forces.

At Hayes Primary School, we use Pupil Premium funding in a targeted and strategic way to support eligible pupils. This may include academic support, pastoral and wellbeing provision, and targeted interventions designed to remove barriers to learning and help every child achieve their full potential.

Your child may be eligible for free school meals if you are receiving any of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit), with a gross annual household income of no more than £16,190 (as assessed by HMRC)
  • Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
  • Universal Credit, with a net annual household income of £7,400 or less (after tax and not including other benefits)

Applications for free school meals can be made online via the London Borough of Bromley website:

https://www.bromley.gov.uk/FreeSchoolMealsApplicationForm

We recommend applying online using the link above. If you are unable to complete the application, please contact the school and we will be happy to help.

Applying for free school meals is confidential, and eligibility helps the school access additional funding to support your child’s learning and wellbeing. Even if your child does not take a free school meal, registering can still benefit the school and your child.

If you think your child may be eligible, or would like to discuss this further, please contact the school in confidence.
