Homework

At Hayes Primary School, homework is an important part of consolidating learning and building positive study habits. All children will receive homework each week, with the amount and type of homework varying appropriately by age and stage.

Every child will have a homework book
Homework is sent home on Fridays and should be returned by the following Wednesday
Homework tasks will differ between year groups and may focus on a range of curriculum areas, depending on what children would benefit from practising or revisiting

Reading Books

Reading records and books are changed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Free readers change their Free Reader books themselves as needed and will have their reading records checked each Monday. They may choose books from home or from school.

Free readers on the new Quality Text Scheme (QTS) will change their QTS book on a Monday only.

All children must have their scheme books and reading records in school everyday so that adults are able to listen to them read.
