The school Gardening Club is currently run for Year 1 by Teaching Staff and Parent Volunteers. Each week, on an informal basis a group of Year 1 children spend part of their lunch break in our vegetable and fruit garden, located on the lawn by the school office.
In an action-packed 30 minutes, children learn about all the things that plants need in order to grow and get hands on experience of planting, watering, weeding and harvesting their hard work.
The PTA Gardening Team volunteers also take turns look after the space during the school holidays and it has created a fun and inclusive community space which anyone is welcome to join. To volunteer to help with any gardening project speak to Caroline Lewis firstname.lastname@example.org or Sarah Osborne.
