Pupil Outcome

The school has continued to achieve extremely high outcomes in all year groups, building on the excellent progress pupils have made over time.

Approximately half of children are below what is typically expected when they enter the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). However, in 2017, they completed this phase with levels above the national average. This demonstrates exceptional progress with 90% of children achieving a Good Level of Development in 2017, significantly above the national average.

Year on year attainment in the Year 1 phonics-screening test is exceptionally high. In 2017, 99% of pupils passed the test.

Pupils learn well through Key Stage 1, with all groups making strong progress in 2017. This culminated at the end of Key Stage 2 in progress and attainment that was significantly above the national average.

Outcomes for pupils at the end of Key Stage 2 in 2017 were well above the national average in reading, writing and mathematics. The combined percentage of 83% being significantly above the national average. Performance was similarly strong in the spelling, punctuation and grammar assessment although this area is a continued focus, especially in the spelling element.

Pupils achieved well in science in 2017 with 92% gaining the expected standard in Key Stage 1, while this figure was 90% at the end of Key Stage 2.
