The Effect of the PE Premium on Pupil’s participation and attainment 2017-18
Pupil participation in 2 hours or more of Physical activity, PE and sport per week:
2013/14 – 0% (approx. 1hr.30)
2014/15 – 0% (approx. 1hr.30)
2015/16 – 100% (PE introduced into school timetable for each year group)
2016/17 – 100%
2017/18 - 100%
Participation in extra-curricular activities provided free to KS2 children:
2013/14 – 28%
2014/15 – 48%
2015/16 – 61%
2016/17 – 62%
2017/18 - 67%
Year on Year increase has been seen because of the number of before school and lunchtimes and afterschool clubs being offered has increased from 1 to 7.
The number of Level 1 sports competitions being offered to pupils:
2013/14 – 0
2014/15 – 5 (introduction of inter-house competitions for KS2 within PE lessons)
2015/16 – 7
2016/17 – 8
2017/18 - 9
The number of Level 2 sports competitions being offered to pupils:
2013/14 – 6
2014/15 – 9 includes B Teams
2015/16 – 13 includes B & C Teams + 1 KS1
2016/17 – 13 + 2 KS1, taking B & C Teams when possible
2017/18 - 14, 2x B teams and 1x C team
Pupil participation in leading, managing and officiating PE/Sports:
2013/14 – 5%
2014/15 – 12%
2015/16 – 16%
2016/17 – 17%
2017/18 - 17%
Year on Year increase has been seen due to the number of inter-house and inter-school competitions allowing pupils to take on different roles within the teams.
